What is Bio-Filler?

BioFiller is an advanced Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment that employs specialised equipment to create an injectable solution from the patient's own blood. This procedure aids in the reduction of facial folds and wrinkles, as well as in restoring volume and subtly reshaping facial contours that may have diminished due to aging, illness, weight loss, and other factors. By utilising the patient's own material, this autologous injectable harnesses cutting-edge technology to offer a natural alternative to Hyaluronic Acid dermal fillers. It has been shown to possess optimal biomechanical and bioactive characteristics for soft tissue repair and regeneration, all achievable in a single session.

Why do we offer Bio-Filler?

BioFiller offers volume enhancement akin to HA fillers, yet with a softer texture that adapts better to facial movements and is less prone to lump formation. It seamlessly integrates both intra-dermal PRP injection and subdermal biofiller injection in a single session, ensuring comprehensive treatment. Its safety profile surpasses that of HA fillers concerning allergic reactions, rejection, biofilm formation, granulomas, and the Tyndall effect. By harnessing the patient's own biology, BioFiller delivers dual benefits of volume restoration and tissue regeneration simultaneously in one procedure. This makes it a compelling option for individuals seeking an alternative to HA fillers in their "aging well" treatment strategy, either due to unsuitability or personal preference.

What is involved in the procedure?

A small amount (15-30ml) of the patient's blood is collected using the standard procedure for a blood test. Through the use of a patented ARTG listed device for platelet concentration and a centrifuge, platelets are isolated from the whole blood and gathered into a concentrated sample called PRP. Additionally, plasma is collected and, following platelet activation and gelation protocols, forms a stable three-dimensional plasma gel. This gel is then combined with high-dose PRP to create the patient's own BioFiller. Subsequently, BioFiller is administered beneath the skin using a blunt-tip microcannula.

During the injection process, patients typically report sensations of mild stinging and tingling, followed by increased warmth and reddening of the skin in the injection area. Additionally, mild swelling may occur as part of the body's response to the regenerative properties of the injected BioFiller. This swelling usually subsides within 24-48 hours, and applying ice or cold compresses can help reduce it if necessary.
